About the course
This honours social work degree prepares students for practice across diverse community and human service settings, including mental health, child and family welfare, youth work, homelessness, disability, alcohol and other drugs, and domestic and family violence. Grounded in social justice and human rights, it emphasises contemporary anti-oppressive, decolonised and trauma-informed practice, while building core skills for work with individuals, families, groups and communities and offering an honours research pathway in social work.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles across government and non-government human services, working directly with clients and communities or contributing to program and service delivery. Career pathways include social worker positions in health and mental health, child and family services, youth and homelessness services, disability support, community development and advocacy, as well as opportunities in service management, research, and strategy or policy development. Outcomes align with bachelor-level professional practice in social work.
