About the course
The Bachelor of Science with Honours is a one-year (or part-time equivalent) directed study program for high-performing science graduates. You’ll work closely with an academic supervisor, build research methodology capability, and complete a supervised research project. The course supports specialisation in areas such as environmental, marine or forest science management and can also provide a pathway to postgraduate study in science. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
This honours year strengthens research and applied science skills valued across government, consulting and industry. Graduates may pursue roles involving environmental and natural resource management, marine and forest science projects, monitoring and compliance, or research support. The supervised thesis-style project also helps prepare students for further postgraduate study and research-oriented careers within science and related public and private sector organisations.
