About the course
This vertical double degree combines in-depth physics study with a Master of Teaching (Secondary) to prepare you to teach STEM subjects. You’ll build strong scientific thinking through theory and hands-on laboratory, research and fieldwork, then develop classroom practice through supervised professional experience placements in secondary schools. The course is designed for students aiming to become qualified secondary teachers with a physics focus at bachelor/master level.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for careers as secondary school STEM teachers, with specialist capability to teach physics and related science subjects. The teaching component includes professional experience in schools, supporting pathways into government, independent and Catholic education systems, and opportunities to work in regional or overseas settings. With strong science training, you can also apply analytical and experimental skills to science-related education roles and broader STEM-focused workplaces.
