About the course
This course prepares you to become an oral health therapist, a registered dental practitioner who diagnoses, treats and helps prevent oral disease across all ages. You’ll build clinical skills for providing dental services such as select fillings, periodontal therapy and other scope-of-practice treatments, with a strong focus on promoting oral health. This is an undergraduate dentistry-focused program delivered on campus. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles supporting oral health in clinical and community settings. Typical careers include oral health therapist/dental hygienist, oral health educator and research-focused roles in oral health. Employment opportunities span dental practices, hospitals, government and community health services, tertiary education, and aged care and residential care.
