About the course
This honours course builds foundational research capability for registered nurses, developing skills that can be applied in clinical practice or as a pathway into a focused research career. You will plan and complete a research thesis on a nursing topic relevant to the profession. It is designed as an AQF Level 8 Bachelor Honours award and does not provide initial nurse registration in Australia. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.

Graduates can use their honours-level research training to support evidence-based practice and quality improvement in healthcare settings, or to progress toward higher degree research. Typical pathways include clinical research support roles, research assistant positions, project or quality improvement roles in health services, and preparation for postgraduate research study.
