About the course
Flinders’ Bachelor of Science (Marine Biology) explores marine life and ecosystems through research-led teaching, practical labs and extensive fieldwork. You’ll learn to monitor reefs, survey marine wildlife and analyse environmental data while investigating threats such as climate change and pollution. The course builds strong scientific and problem-solving skills for understanding, managing and protecting ocean environments at an undergraduate level in environmental science.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across marine conservation and environmental management, applying field and analytical skills to real-world ocean challenges. Career pathways include marine biologist, environmental or fisheries officer, aquaculture and resource management roles, marine park or conservation program support, and positions in government agencies, consulting firms, research organisations, aquariums, wildlife tourism and science communication.
