About the course
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) is an additional year of undergraduate study for high-achieving science graduates who want to deepen disciplinary expertise and build research capability. You’ll undertake a supervised but independent research project alongside training in experimental design or technical skills and selected coursework. It provides a pathway to advanced study and research-focused careers in science through a structured honours program in your chosen discipline.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research assistant and entry-level scientist roles across universities, government agencies and industry, as well as laboratory and analytical positions in areas aligned to their honours discipline. The supervised research project and research-skills training also support progression to higher degrees by research (eg, PhD) and science-focused roles that value evidence-based problem solving and experimental design skills in the sciences. Preparing graduates for laboratory technician, research assistant, and science-based industry entry roles.
