About the course
The Bachelor of Retail Management (Hons) is designed to develop skills and knowledge valued in the retail sector, giving students a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of retail management. The programme combines core business and management studies with specialised retail modules such as e-commerce, buying and merchandising, store operations, retail loyalty and events, and retail location analysis.
What you might learn
Students learn fundamental business disciplines alongside retail-specific decision-making and operational skills needed to manage retail organisations of different sizes. The programme aims to build competence in areas such as merchandising, consumer behaviour, retail operations, marketing and promotion, and contemporary retail issues, supported by applied learning through internship exposure.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across retail and consumer-facing industries where retail management and merchandising expertise are required. Potential pathways include retail operations and store management, buying and merchandising, retail marketing/advertising and promotion, e-commerce and omnichannel retail support, and retail planning/location analysis. The internship component is intended to strengthen job readiness through hands-on workplace experience.
Entry requirements
STPM with minimum of Grace C (GP2.0) in any subjects and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level; A-Levels with minimum of 2 principle passes; UEC with minimum 5 credits; Foundation / Matriculation with minimum CGPA 2.00; Diploma with minimum CGPA 2.00; Applicants who possess other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
