About the course
QUT’s Bachelor of Radiation Therapy is a four-year professional degree preparing you to work in cancer treatment and patient care. You’ll combine radiation science and anatomy with hands-on training, including simulation in a virtual radiotherapy environment and industry-informed teaching. Clinical placements start from your first semester to build technical capability, communication skills and confidence for professional practice in radiation therapy at bachelor level.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to work as radiation therapists in oncology and radiotherapy departments, supporting the planning and delivery of prescribed radiation treatments for cancer patients. You’ll be trained in treatment planning workflows, image matching and safe treatment delivery, with extensive clinical placement experience. Career pathways span public and private hospitals and specialist cancer centres as an entry-level radiation therapy professional with a bachelor qualification.
