About the course
Primary teaching is a rewarding profession focused on supporting children’s learning across the Australian primary curriculum. UOW’s Bachelor of Primary Education prepares you to educate the “whole child” and promote lifelong learning. It is nationally accredited for teaching Kindergarten to Year 6, and includes supervised school placements from second year so you can apply classroom skills early in your Bachelor degree in primary education. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.
Career outcome
Graduates may work as primary school teachers (Kindergarten to Year 6) in public or independent schools, supporting student learning across key curriculum areas. Roles can also extend into education leadership and specialist pathways over time, such as discipline lead, educational consultant, education policy advisor, or training and development officer. These outcomes align with completing a Bachelor degree qualification in primary education and teaching. Preparing graduates for teaching, education support, and learning development roles in schools and colleges.
