About the course
This specialisation is designed for high achievers in Curtin’s Bachelor of Communications who plan to progress into the Master of Multimedia Journalism or the Master of Multimedia Journalism (Global). It builds core practical journalism skills while strengthening critical and analytical capability through journalism theory, history and ethics. On completion, students may be eligible for up to 100 credit points toward a related master’s in Media & Communication.
Career outcome
This specialisation supports a pathway into postgraduate journalism study and helps prepare students for work across contemporary media environments. Graduates can build foundations for roles such as reporter, digital journalist, content producer, multimedia storyteller, editorial assistant or communications writer, with opportunities in newsrooms, online media, government and corporate communications. It is an undergraduate specialisation that fast-tracks progression in Media & Communication.
