About the course
This Bachelor of Visual Arts has been re-imagined for contemporary practice, emphasising collaboration and self-initiated studio work within a supportive Arts Academy community in Ballarat. You build practical capability across painting, drawing, ceramics, 3D/installation, printmaking and media technologies, under practising artists and visiting speakers. Industry and community partnerships provide hands-on projects and experience, including exhibition planning and management through campus galleries.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue creative practice and roles across arts production, exhibition and cultural sectors. Career pathways include professional artist and specialist makers (painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramist), as well as curator, gallery assistant/administrator, arts writer/critic, cultural development officer and community arts adviser. The degree also supports work in related creative industries such as illustration, graphic design, animation, digital media art, textile and jewellery design, and visual merchandising in the visual arts field.
Career outcome
Upon graduating from this program, you may be employed in roles such as arts administrator, designer craftspeople, graphic designer, multimedia specialist, photographer, exhibitions designer, and etc. in companies including Blue Fountain Media, Penguin Random House, MetaDesign, Firstborn, House Industries, and etc.Campus
