About the course
ACU’s Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design combines studio-based fine art, graphic design and art history to build your creative practice and design thinking. You’ll develop skills across a range of media through hands-on, project-based learning, supported by dedicated studios and workshops. The course includes opportunities for industry placement and public exhibitions, culminating in a final-year graduate show in a Bachelor-level design and visual arts degree. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across the creative industries, including graphic design, visual arts practice, illustration, advertising and creative administration. Career pathways may also include gallery and museum work (such as curatorship and gallery management), events coordination, art conservation support, and film or digital content production. With additional training, pathways may extend to teaching or specialist roles such as art therapy, building careers from a Bachelor-level design and visual arts degree.
