About the course
The Bachelor of Social Science explores social systems, institutions and cultures, building skills to analyse social dynamics and develop practical, evidence-based responses to inequality and complex social issues. You’ll develop capabilities in social analysis, research and policy, with flexibility to tailor your studies through a wide range of majors and electives. It’s an undergraduate degree focused on applied social science for real-world impact. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates develop transferable, work-ready skills for roles that support communities and inform social change. Career pathways include research and education, public health and wellbeing services, welfare and community organisations, environmental advocacy and community organising, and community/family services management. Opportunities may also exist in disability, aged care, Indigenous and youth sectors, and across government and non-government agencies with a Bachelor-level social science qualification.
