About the course

The Bachelor of Midwifery prepares students for entry to professional midwifery practice with a strong focus on safe, woman-centred care aligned to Australian accreditation standards. You’ll study areas such as anatomy and physiology, midwifery theory and practice, primary healthcare, perinatal mental health, and care across pregnancy, birth and early parenting. Graduates are prepared for multidisciplinary practice and eligibility for AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife.

Graduates can work as Registered Midwives in a range of maternity and primary healthcare settings, providing care across preconception, pregnancy, labour, birth and early parenting. Career pathways include hospital maternity services, antenatal and postnatal care, birthing units, community and primary healthcare services, and multidisciplinary maternal health teams. This Bachelor degree supports entry to professional midwifery roles within Australian healthcare systems. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
