About the course
This Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) develops broad, job-ready mechanical engineering capability to design, manufacture and optimise machines and systems. You’ll study areas such as robotics, advanced materials, energy generation and transmission, and computer control of physical systems, supported by strong foundations in maths, mechanics and thermodynamics. The program prepares graduates for professional mechanical engineering practice at honours level. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Mechanical engineering graduates can work across diverse sectors where machines, products and physical systems are designed or operated. Typical pathways include design and development, field engineering, manufacturing and operations, and project or people leadership roles. Industries can include renewable energy, robotics and automation, mining, transport, aerospace, medical technologies, electronics and advanced manufacturing. Careers from this honours degree span technical specialist and discipline-agnostic roles.
Career outcome
Upon graduating from this program, you may be employed in roles such as mechanical engineer, mining engineer, project manager, mechanical designer, industrial engineer, mechanical engineering supervisor, and etc. in companies including NASA, Siemens, Amcor, Airbus, BAE Systems, and etc.Campus
