About the course
The Bachelor of Secondary Education qualifies you to teach Years 7–12 in Australian Catholic, independent and government secondary schools. The four-year program blends education theory with skill development and extensive classroom practice, including 30 weeks of school-based professional experience. You will also select two teaching areas to build subject content knowledge alongside curriculum, pedagogy and assessment capabilities in secondary education. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.

Graduates are prepared to work as secondary school teachers across government, independent and Catholic high schools, teaching students in Years 7–12. The degree supports careers in classroom teaching within your two chosen teaching areas and builds capabilities in lesson planning, assessment and student support.
