About the course
The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Bachelor of Primary Education is a four-year initial teacher education degree preparing you to teach primary-aged children in Catholic, independent and government schools. It combines educational theory with extensive supervised professional experience (30 weeks) and strong foundations across key primary curriculum areas. Flexible full-time or part-time study is available across multiple campuses, supporting graduates to enter the classroom with confidence as primary educators.

Graduates can pursue careers as primary school teachers in government, Catholic and independent schools, supported by substantial classroom placements completed during the degree. The program also develops skills relevant to roles in learning support and inclusive education settings, curriculum and literacy/numeracy support, and education-focused community or youth services.
