About the course
This one-year Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) is for high-achieving nursing graduates who want to deepen their knowledge through a supervised research program. You’ll investigate a topic of interest with individual mentoring and seminars, building skills in research design, ethics approval, data collection and analysis, and communicating findings. The degree culminates in an honours thesis and prepares you for research-informed nursing practice. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue advanced clinical and specialist nursing pathways and roles that value research capability, quality improvement and education. Career directions can include clinical nurse specialist, clinical nurse consultant, critical care or mental health nurse, perioperative or primary health care nurse, and nurse educator. The honours training can also support progression into nursing research or academic roles within health services and universities. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
