About the course

This combined degree builds capability in nursing alongside public health and health promotion, preparing you to support healthier lives across clinical and community settings. You’ll study contemporary nursing practice plus prevention, policy and health promotion, and develop strong communication and analytical skills. Extensive professional experience, including substantial placements and a health practicum option, helps you graduate work-ready for nursing and population health roles at Deakin University.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue registered nursing careers in hospitals and community services, working in areas such as acute care, aged care, rehabilitation, paediatrics, mental health and community health. The public health and health promotion component also supports roles in prevention programs, health promotion, policy and advocacy, community development and health project work in government, NGOs and health agencies.
