About the course
The Bachelor of Music (Degree with Honours) is an intensive one-year program that consolidates and extends undergraduate music study through advanced, highly specialised training. It prepares graduates for professional music practice and provides a direct pathway to graduate coursework and research opportunities in music. Students specialise in an area such as performance, composition, jazz and improvisation, or musicology/ethnomusicology while undertaking a substantial capstone project.
What you might learn
Students develop advanced practice-led research capability through supervised independent work culminating in a major creative work (or series of works) and an accompanying research paper. The course builds skills in devising, defining and managing a major project, including critical inquiry and scholarly communication.
