About the course
This degree develops your skills as a contemporary composer, helping you find your musical voice while building strong technical and creative foundations. You’ll study compositional techniques and analysis, instrumentation and orchestration, musicianship and contextual studies, with opportunities to specialise and produce ambitious work. The course also supports composing electroacoustic and digitally mediated music. This is a 4-year Bachelor degree in composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers creating original music across concert and contemporary settings, including composition for ensembles and soloists, electroacoustic and computer music, and sound-based creative practice.
