About the course
This combined Bachelor of Medical Sonography/Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography prepares you to work as a sonographer, using ultrasound to support medical diagnosis and patient care. You’ll build skills in diagnostic imaging and clinical practice while working alongside other health professionals. The course is designed for on-campus study across multiple locations and develops foundational and applied capability in medical sonography. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to practise as a Sonographer or Ultrasonographer in diagnostic imaging settings. Career opportunities may be available in public and private hospitals, specialist clinics and community health services. The qualification can also support progression into specialty ultrasound areas such as obstetrics, vascular or musculoskeletal imaging. This is an undergraduate pathway into a niche profession within medical imaging.
