About the course
This honours degree builds specialised knowledge in health and medical science while you complete a supervised research project in an area of interest. Designed for students who have completed Years 1–3 of UNE’s medical programs, it strengthens critical thinking, data analysis and problem solving, and culminates in an original dissertation within a collaborative research environment. This is a Bachelor Honours qualification in biomedical and medical science. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates gain research capability and scientific communication skills relevant to medical and health science settings. Outcomes typically include pathways into medical research support roles, clinical research coordination, research assistant positions, and preparation for higher degree research or other postgraduate study.
