About the course
This Honours year in Medical Science is an intensive, laboratory-based program focused on independent research and advanced scientific training. You’ll complete a supervised research project and thesis, supported by coursework and seminars that build experimental design, data analysis and research ethics skills. The program is designed as a direct pathway into medical research roles and can provide a foundation for PhD study in biomedical science at bachelor (honours) level.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for early career roles in medical and biomedical research settings, including university, hospital and institute laboratories. The degree develops capabilities in research design, critical analysis, ethical practice, scientific writing and presenting findings, supporting progression to research assistant and laboratory roles, or competitive entry to higher degree by research pathways. It also strengthens employability across health and biotech research environments at bachelor (honours) level.
