About the course
This honours degree builds advanced theoretical and technical capability across the clinical disciplines of laboratory medicine for use in diagnostic settings. You’ll develop skills in conducting and interpreting laboratory investigations that support the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Study is available online and on campus, preparing you for professional practice in medical laboratory science at bachelor honours level. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates can pursue roles as Medical Laboratory Scientists working in pathology and diagnostic laboratory environments. Typical work involves performing medical laboratory tests and contributing to accurate results that inform clinical decisions for disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
