About the course
Build strong mathematical foundations and advanced problem-solving skills for analysing complex systems and making evidence-based decisions. You’ll study core and applied mathematics with opportunities to focus your degree through a dedicated Mathematics major, preparing you to model, interpret and forecast real-world outcomes. This is an on-campus Bachelor degree in mathematical sciences at UOW. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can work in roles that apply quantitative modelling and analysis across business, finance and government. Typical pathways include business forecaster, financial or investment analyst, quantitative trader, risk manager, mathematical modeller and statistician, as well as specialist areas such as meteorology and transport analysis/modelling. This is a Bachelor-level preparation for mathematics-driven careers in the sciences. Preparing graduates for laboratory technician, research assistant, and science-based industry entry roles.
