About the course
Delivered through the Australian Maritime College, this honours degree prepares you for professional work in the maritime industry with a choice of specialisation in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering. You’ll study design, construction and operation of marine and offshore structures, supported by access to advanced training and research facilities and strong industry links. This program is a joint award pathway for Flinders students completing years 1–2 there. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue careers across maritime and offshore engineering sectors, applying skills in design, development and operation of vessels and marine structures. Typical pathways include roles in naval architecture and ship design, offshore and subsea engineering, coastal and ocean engineering projects, and work with defence, shipping, high-speed craft, offshore renewables, and marine infrastructure organisations. This is a Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree in maritime engineering.
