About the course
The Visual Arts major at Flinders lets you build creative and technical skills across studio practices such as ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, jewellery and digital media. You’ll develop your own visual language while deepening conceptual thinking through art history, theory and context. Taught by practising artists, this major is studied within an undergraduate degree in visual arts. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
This major prepares you for a range of pathways in the visual arts and creative industries by strengthening studio practice, conceptual development and portfolio-building. Graduates may pursue work as an independent artist or in roles connected to craft and visual arts production, exhibitions and community arts, as well as related creative fields where visual communication and creative problem-solving are valued.
