About the course
The Gender Studies major at Flinders explores how gender, identity and power shape lived experience, culture and social institutions. You’ll examine contemporary debates such as violence, pay gaps, harassment and discrimination, and how gender intersects with race, class and sexuality across local and global contexts. This is an undergraduate major within the Bachelor of Arts in Arts & Humanities. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles connected to gender and women’s issues and broader social justice work. The major supports pathways into international development, NGOs and community organisations, government and public service, foreign affairs, journalism and education, where inclusive policy, advocacy, research and communication skills are valued.
