About the course
This undergraduate Japanese Language Specialisation is a four-unit sequence that develops practical Japanese communication, building grammar, vocabulary and kanji to around JLPT N3 level. You’ll focus on interactive language use for everyday contexts, explore cultural features such as ambiguity and indirectness, and work with authentic texts. Tutorials build skills for discussion, debate and appropriate honorific forms in social settings. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.
