About the course
This Japanese double degree major (BA/BCom) develops Japanese language proficiency from beginner to advanced levels alongside a deeper understanding of Japanese culture. You’ll build literacy across spoken and written Japanese using contemporary teaching technology and cultural awareness activities. The major is designed for students taking the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce and supports future bilingual work in Australia or Japan as part of an undergraduate languages major.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue bilingual and Japan-related roles across business and public sectors. Potential careers include interpreter/translator, trade measurement officer, tourism officer, hotel/motel manager and flight attendant. The major supports work in industries such as international trade, diplomacy, foreign affairs and trade, banking and finance, government/public service, international relations, media, education, mining and minerals, and tourism and hospitality as an undergraduate language major.
