About the course
This Honours major provides an additional year of study for high-achieving students from an undergraduate Internetworking and Network Security degree. You’ll work closely with an academic supervisor to complete an intensive research project in a topic of your choice, supported by advanced research skills training and additional coursework. It is designed to deepen specialist knowledge and strengthen research capability in IT and network security at Honours level. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles that combine advanced networking and security expertise with research capability. Outcomes can include pathways to research higher degrees and work in network engineering, cybersecurity and security analysis across government, enterprise IT, telecommunications and consulting environments. The Honours focus supports careers requiring investigation, critical evaluation and independent project work in internetworking and network security. Preparing graduates for software development, IT support, data analysis, and technology consultancy entry roles.
