About the course
The Bachelor of International Studies (Honours) is a one-year full-time program focused on developing advanced research capability through a substantial independent project and thesis. It supports students interested in languages, cultures, global politics and history, building interdisciplinary skills to analyse international issues. The degree is designed as preparation for higher degree by research pathways, including PhD study, in International Studies. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research-focused pathways in international and cross-cultural fields, with skills in critical analysis, theory-driven inquiry and independent project work. Possible directions include research assistant and policy or program roles in government, NGOs and international organisations, as well as progression to HDR study (eg PhD). This is an Honours qualification in International Studies within Arts and Humanities. Preparing graduates for graduate employment, professional traineeships, and further postgraduate study.
