About the course
UNSW’s Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Honours) develops the design and technical skills needed to shape interior environments for contemporary living, work and public life. You’ll learn to integrate spatial design, materials, detailing, sustainability and user experience through studio-based projects and critical design thinking. The degree builds a professional portfolio and culminates in advanced Honours-level study in interior architecture and design. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers designing and delivering interior environments across residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, workplace and public projects. Typical pathways include interior architect/interior designer, spatial or retail designer, set/exhibition designer, design consultant, and roles in furniture, materials and product specification. The Honours component supports progression to advanced practice and research-informed design careers in interior architecture and design.
