About the course
This extended major provides an interdisciplinary, research-led study of Earth systems across onshore and offshore environments, linking geology, oceans and environmental processes. You’ll build a holistic understanding of the planet’s history and future challenges, with a focus on sustainability and industry-relevant perspectives. This is an undergraduate extended major in environmental and marine geoscience at UWA. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles across geoscience and marine and environmental sectors, supporting sustainable resource and environmental management. Career pathways can include environmental or marine science support roles, geoscience and field-based technical work, research assistance, and positions in government, consulting, and industry. This extended major builds foundations for science careers in Earth and marine systems at undergraduate level.
