About the course
This undergraduate engineering specialisation is a set of four units that you add to an eligible Curtin degree to broaden your expertise in industrial optimisation and modelling. It supports tailoring your study toward quantitative, data-driven decision making for complex engineering and operational systems. You apply for an eligible parent degree and complete the specialisation within that course as an Engineering – Other specialisation at bachelor level. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply optimisation and modelling approaches to improve performance of industrial and engineering systems, supporting better planning, scheduling and resource allocation. Skills are relevant to roles in operations and systems engineering, industrial analytics and process improvement across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, energy and services. This specialisation strengthens bachelor-level Engineering – Other pathways focused on quantitative problem solving. Preparing graduates for graduate engineer, project support, and technical design roles across engineering sectors.
