About the course
This Honours Accounting Stream is an undergraduate specialisation within Curtin’s commerce honours study, designed to build advanced capability in accounting research and contemporary practice. You’ll complete core units in research methods, current accounting issues and an accounting research project, with options in financial data analysis/visualisation or advanced econometrics. The stream culminates in a supervised thesis focused on an area of interest in honours-level accounting.
Career outcome
Graduates develop advanced analytical and research skills for roles that require interpreting financial reporting and assessing emerging accounting issues. Potential pathways include positions in financial accounting, audit and assurance, corporate governance, taxation, management accounting and financial analysis, as well as research-focused roles in industry or further study.
