About the course
Curtin’s History Specialisation helps you understand the forces that shape the modern world through the study of social, political, cultural and economic change over time. You’ll develop the ability to identify, evaluate and interpret evidence and to explain causes and consequences of change. Designed as a set of four units, it complements an undergraduate degree and adds a humanities lens to your main discipline. The programme develops discipline knowledge and graduate capabilities aligned with its qualification level.
Career outcome
This specialisation builds transferable skills in critical analysis, research, and evidence-based argument, supporting careers that value strong writing and contextual thinking. Graduates may apply these capabilities in government and public policy, education support roles, cultural and heritage organisations, museums, libraries and archives, media and communications, or community and not-for-profit sectors. It strengthens employability by adding humanities expertise within an undergraduate degree pathway.
