About the course
This History major explores how cultural, political, social and economic forces have shaped societies over time, helping you understand present-day life and ideas. You’ll examine themes such as place and belonging, gender and sexuality, Indigenous history, marginalisation, imperialism, dictatorship, heritage, conflict, and war, with regional studies spanning Australia, Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Asia. This is an undergraduate Arts & Humanities major within a BA/BCom double degree at Curtin.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply strong research, critical thinking and communication skills across roles that interpret the past and inform decisions. Career paths may include policy advisor, research officer, heritage consultant, heritage tourism officer, professional historian, academic or teacher. Typical employers include local, state and federal government, political parties, advocacy and charity organisations, the NGO sector, tourism, education and consulting. This is an undergraduate pathway in Arts & Humanities at Curtin.
