About the course
The Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours is a one-year, practice-led programme that supports advanced creative development through an independent project in visual art, design, or theatre and performance. Study at Hobart or Launceston with access to specialist workshops, studio space, and supervision from practising artists and designers. You can choose Professional or Research Honours to suit industry goals or pathways to higher research in fine arts. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers across contemporary arts and creative industries, supported by strong skills in critical thinking, creativity, communication and project development. Opportunities may include practising artist, designer, theatre/performance maker, curator or arts worker, and roles in cultural organisations, festivals and creative production. Research Honours can also support progression to higher degrees such as an MFA or PhD in creative practice and scholarship. Preparing graduates for graduate employment, professional traineeships, and further postgraduate study.
