About the course
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) offers intensive, studio-based training designed to develop industry-ready music theatre performers. Students learn through daily practical classes with working artists and participate in masterclasses with international guest teachers. The course focuses on the core disciplines of singing, acting and dancing, alongside integrated performance training and breadth subjects from across the University.

Students develop the technical skills and knowledge required for professional music theatre performance across acting, singing and dance. The course builds artistic and technical capacity while supporting individual expression, with a strong emphasis on applying style, character and performance craft to text, music and choreography. Students also learn collaborative creative processes that lead to professional performance outcomes and industry connections.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue work as music theatre performers and practitioners across stage performance and related performing arts fields. The training supports pathways into roles such as performer (singer/actor/dancer) and creator of new music theatre work, and helps build professional networks through production and industry engagement. Graduates may also progress to an Honours year as a pathway to advanced graduate study.
