About the course
This Bachelor of Fine Arts major develops your creative and professional writing practice across forms such as fiction, non-fiction, screenwriting and poetry, supported by literary studies and craft-based studio learning. You will build skills in writing, editing and developing manuscripts, with options to shape your degree through complementary studies such as minors or a second major. This is an undergraduate writing major within the creative industries discipline. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue careers as creative writers and authors, editors, copywriters and content creators, and writers for publishing, digital media and screen industries. The course can also support pathways into communications roles where strong writing and editorial skills are valued, and may complement future study in teaching or research. This is an undergraduate preparation for professional writing work in arts and humanities contexts.
