About the course
This double degree combines creative and professional writing in fine arts with an honours law qualification. You’ll build writing craft and industry-aware communication skills while developing core legal knowledge across key areas of law. The course is delivered across QUT’s Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses and supports a structured study plan to complete both components within one program. The programme builds legal reasoning, case analysis, and professional ethics for legal practice and public service pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue legal careers after completing required practical legal training, with options including solicitor, barrister, legal policy or compliance roles. The writing component supports pathways in publishing, editing, content development, communication and creative industries, complementing legal practice in areas such as advocacy, legal writing and public-facing communication in government, firms and cultural organisations. Preparing graduates for legal practice, paralegal, compliance, and public sector legal support roles.
