About the course

The Finance major develops skills to help individuals and organisations manage money, set financial goals and make informed investment decisions. You’ll build knowledge of financial markets and learn approaches to managing investment risk. The major can be tailored to specific interests and combined with areas such as accounting or economics to broaden career options. This is an undergraduate major in accounting and finance. The programme introduces accounting standards, taxation basics, and financial reporting for professional accreditation pathways.

Career outcome

A Finance major can lead to careers across corporate finance, financial markets, managed funds, superannuation, banking and private wealth management. Graduates may pursue roles such as finance manager or consultant, credit analyst, portfolio manager, investment banker/analyst, stockbroker/trader or innovation consultant.
