About the course
UQ’s Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Sciences (Honours) develops advanced skills in exercise and sport science, with a direct pathway toward ESSA accreditation. You’ll study human movement and apply evidence-based methods to design, deliver and evaluate exercise programs for performance, health, rehabilitation and chronic disease prevention. The program includes substantial practical placement experience and industry-relevant training as an Honours degree in sports science.
Career outcome
Graduates may work as exercise or sport scientists supporting athlete performance, injury rehabilitation and community health and fitness initiatives. Career settings can include sports institutes and clubs, rehabilitation and sports medicine clinics, hospitals, health and fitness centres, research organisations and defence. The degree supports eligibility to seek ESSA membership as an Accredited Exercise Scientist, with potential to pursue Accredited Sport Scientist status via the Sports Performance extended major in this Honours sports science programme.
