About the course
UOW’s Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours) develops practical field and analytical skills to understand and manage environmental challenges. You’ll build contemporary science knowledge and undertake an honours research project, working with staff on real-world problems that support sustainable communities. Study areas can include climate and sustainability, land resources, and wildlife and conservation in a campus-based learning environment. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across government, councils, environmental consulting and conservation organisations. Career paths may include environmental officer or policy analyst, bush regenerator, environmental educator, national parks and wildlife ranger, or spatial/GIS and remote sensing officer. The honours year adds research experience valued for specialist practice and pathways into further study in environmental science. Preparing graduates for laboratory technician, research assistant, and science-based industry entry roles.
