About the course
UWA’s Environmental Engineering major prepares you to tackle sustainability and environmental protection challenges using engineering practice and an understanding of natural systems. You’ll study areas such as environmental management and design, risk assessment, modelling, hydrology, oceanography, and contaminant transport, with a strong focus on analytical and research capability. This is an undergraduate engineering pathway in Environmental Engineering. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles focused on protecting and improving natural and built environments across government, consulting, resources, water and wastewater, and infrastructure sectors. Typical work includes environmental impact assessment, pollution and contamination management, water and coastal engineering support, environmental modelling, and sustainability planning. This is a bachelor-level pathway towards professional practice in Environmental Engineering. Preparing graduates for graduate engineer, project support, and technical design roles across engineering sectors.
