About the course
This major in Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science brings scientific understanding together with engineering design to address issues such as climate change, pollution, water scarcity and sustainable resource management. You’ll apply environmental systems knowledge through projects, fieldwork and hands-on learning to develop practical solutions for environmental protection and sustainable infrastructure. The major is studied within Curtin’s Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science double degree.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles that combine environmental science and engineering to solve complex sustainability and compliance challenges. Career paths include environmental engineer, water resources/public health engineer, environmental consultant, environmental scientist, natural resource manager, policy/regulatory advisor, carbon or net‑zero specialist, contaminated land/remediation engineer, and environmental data analyst or modelling specialist. Typical employers span consulting, infrastructure, mining, utilities, renewables, conservation and government.
