About the course
Environmental Biology is an undergraduate major within Curtin double degrees that builds practical skills through field-based learning in terrestrial and marine environments. You study a structured sequence of units (including advanced final-year study) that supports understanding of ecosystems, environmental issues and applied biological methods. This major is taken as part of an eligible Curtin bachelor-level degree program. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
This major prepares graduates for environmental roles across government and industry. Career pathways include environmental officer and related positions within agencies such as environment and conservation, environmental protection authorities, transport and water organisations. Graduates may also work in regional development commissions and local government, or in private-sector areas such as resource extraction and restoration, environmental consulting, eco-tourism, and environmental rehabilitation in bachelor-level science pathways.
